I spent the day with my family yesterday and took home a basket of figs from the farm.  I  love this time of year when the figs begin to ripen.  It's a bit early now, but it's a race against the birds who love the figs as much as I do.  Have you ever baked them and stuffed them with blue cheese?  

Figs + Cheese=Happiness 

Start by making two star shaped slices into your figs begining at the stem, but not slicing all the way through.
Place cut figs on a greased baking dish and roast at 350 until figs are hot and have begun to open.
Remove from oven and immediately fill with blue cheese and pinch back together.
Drizzle with honey and enjoy.

other options include chopping nut into your blue cheese and cracking black pepper into your honey drizzle.
