Happy Snow Day...
Only 4 Days to Go...Valentine's Day is Almost Here!
There's snow in Mississippi, and that means it's time to make snow cream. This recipe has a bit of a twist. The white sugar has been replaced with condensed milk. It's awesome on snow balls, so why not in snow cream. The only problem with this, is that i doubt many of us keep condensed milk on hand for impromptu snow days. What's your favorite winter recipe?
Ingredients:
8 cups snow, or shaved ice
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Place snow or shaved ice into a large bowl. Pour condensed milk over and add vanilla. Mix to combine. Serve immediately in bowls
Comments
2 cups - hot chocolate mix
2 cups - non dairy creamer
1/2 cup - sugar
1 cup - instant coffee
1/2 tsp. each - cinnamon and nutmeg
mix together and keep in air tight container. Use 3 to 4 teaspoons per cup, fill with hot water.
Some recipes call for Malted Milk powder like Ovaltine, some use powdered sugar. I have even made a sugar free version that is super yummy!
enjoy!
tThank you for the Fireside Coffee recipe. i can't wait to try it. i was dying to yesterday, but i did'nt have any non dairy creamer. i'm addicted to half and half so that's all i had on hand.
